QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification as a Moderate Special Needs Teacher
- Preferred or Intensive Special Needs Teacher
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and PPS Director
JOB GOAL: To consult with teachers and provide direct instruction to IEP students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as liaison for each assigned IEP student.
- Provide tutorial and small group instruction for IEP specified services.
- Develop educational plans (IEPs) to meet students’ needs.
- Assist regular education teachers in the successful inclusion of IEP students.
- Consult with teachers, guidance and other support personnel for student goals, educational modifications; make up work, untimed tests, organizational skills, and other skills stipulated on the IEP.
- Attend team meetings for new students and provide services (including writing of new IEP or amendment) as determined by team.
- Coordinate with guidance counselors to oversee the tutorial program and schedule for any assigned IEP students.
- Works as a team member for other specified duties at Gardner High School.
- Complete all paperwork (including referrals for reevaluation) within the specified time limits.
- Act as a resource for parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Chair team meetings.
